It is the song "Calling" from the Spirit Ecstatic
CD. |
As a healer, I channel the healing
energy from above and rely on my Angels to guide me
in what to say, where to place my hands and how to proceed
in every step. As a reader, I use the Angels to bring
me messages from God to heal the hearts and to guide
me. I rely on Angels.
Angels, we've
heard about them in bible stories, we've seen the pictures
as children of a beautiful angel watching over children
protecting them at play, we've heard the phrase, "Your
guardian angel must be looking after you. Would you
be surprised to know that you have interacted with angels
in your past and in your present? We all have, we've
called it coincidences.
In the first
of my series on Angels and Angel Healing, I would like
to talk about who I believe they are, I experience them
interacting in my life.
Just Who Are Angels?
Angels have never been human beings, (but they can have
the appearance of one). I believe arrived during the
time of Genesis for our benefit, and that they act as
messengers of God, your higher power of the Universe.
I believe that Angels were created to assist humans
upon our request, as permitted by I Am. Angels come
to teach the prematurely dead, to provide protection
and assistance on their journey. Most of us have never
connected with our angels in our ordinary lives!
I experience
Angels as very gentle beings, they respond to quietness.
They have an attitude free of unselfishness, are non-aggressive
and respond best when you approach them gently. You
must come to them in a state of peace and without distractions
to "hear" your Angel answers. In our culture
we have grown accustomed to noise, our television is
always blaring, the radio is playing, our favorite CD's
and the video games blast their way through our consciousness.
To hear your Angels speaking, we must take a few moments
alone in a quiet room to get them to open up to you.
I believe that
there are as many Angels as there have been humans on
this earth! There are Legions of Angels in the Heavens
waiting upon your request. You can incorporate Angels
into your life everyday, and once you consistently invite
them in, you may begin to notice the many miracles surrounding
your life that you previously missed. There are many
Angel names to call upon; however you do not have to
call on one separately. Trust that you will be sent
the proper Angel at the proper time! Rely on Angels.
There is an Angel Hierarchy. The first triad consists
of the Seraphim, Cherubim, and the Thrones. The second
Triad includes Dominions, Virtues, and Powers. The Third
Hierarchy contains the Principalities, the Archangels
and the Personal Individual Angels. The Personal Individual
Angel is your Guardian Angel. This is the only Angel
that has been with you since birth. Your Guardian Angel
will call in other Angels on your behalf if you give
him permission. You can be assured that this Angel knows
better than any Angel the help that you sincerely need
and have your best interest in mind 24/7. You are never
alone, you are a team.
I will speak
more about these Angels as we continue through the series.
You have legions of Angels at your disposal. I will
present names and properties of Angels for you to learn
about. However, you can call upon them, even if you
don't have a specific name. Just call on the Angels
for whatever you are needing help with; for instance,
ask for the Angels of Finances when you are needing
extra help in that area. They will rush to your side!
Angels will not Heal physical illness; Angels can heal
the soul's illnesses bringing on physical illness. It
is my belief that all physical illness comes from an
ailment of the soul, and energy unbalance or blockage.
Angels will not interfere with Life Plans. We all have
a Life Plan designed to teach us lessons and broaden
our experiences. Your angel is not allowed to alter
your Life Plan, they can help you on anything that doesn't
interfere with your chosen path. Timing is important
in your life as well. For instance, your Life Plan may
involve the possibility of being healed of a tragic
illness, but the timing may not be your timing. Your
angel will know the timing, and patience and belief
that your prayers will be answered in the correct timing
is paramount.
Your Angel can
not do any harm to you or others. Your intention is
known, as humans we are transparent to these lovely,
heavenly beings. If your request would cause harm to
someone, an alternate solution will be found for you
that will be beneficial for your soul's purpose. Your
Angel always has your best interest in mind. It is best
to ask in general terms for that very reason. It's the
end result that matters!
Next time, I
will write about how to contact your Angels, and share
examples of Angels in my life. I invite you to send
in your examples of Angels in your life and questions
you may have. Send your stories to Tina at mineralbilly(at)yahoo.com.

Real
Compost
Real Compost from Dave Parsons was started in 2008 to provide
quality compost in the Bloomington area. The goal was to
help build the soil in this area and support the natural
cycle that exists between plants, grazing animals and fertile
soil. This process relies on the countless organisms that
break down and transform animal manure into dark, rich,
crumbly compost. Give them the proper conditions and they
do wonders!
Our compost
starts as manure from local stables then goes through the
composting process to become a valuable addition to your
soil. Each batch comes with a history sheet and an analysis.
The history sheet shows the source of the compost and the
steps taken to produce the compost. The analysis shows the
amount of major and minor nutrients and pH of the compost.

Culture, a virtual world that combines guidance, community
and games to help consumers reduce their energy consumption.
Centered around a patent-pending
carbon footprint calculator, Climate Culture offers users
personalized advice on the amount of carbon, energy, dollars
and other resources they expend through hundreds of lifestyle
choices and daily actions. The site's Personal Energy Advisor
tool uses regionally specific datasets that reflect the
types of energy generated, temperatures, incoming solar
radiation, energy prices and other factors determined by
ZIP code to power many of its personalized calculations.
Users who join the free site begin by entering some basic
information to calculate their current carbon footprint,
and then choosing an avatar. They then find themselves on
a virtual island that reflects their current level of energy
consumption. The Reduction Center guides users to make changes
in their lifestyle that will reduce their carbon footprint,
such as installing a tankless water heater or using CFLs
instead of traditional lightbulbs. For every reduction they
make, users earn points that give them higher social status
in the community along with access to more and more features
in the site's online store for customizing their avatar
and their world. Users can also earn points by helping friends
green their lifestyles and by challenging others in real-world
carbon-reduction contests. In addition, a variety of multiuser
games can be used to earn points as well: each time a user
plays or wins, one of Climate Culture's corporate sponsors
donates money to offset 10 pounds of carbon dioxide. More

Water Day (WWD) will be guided by the theme 'Coping
with Water Scarcity' under the leadership of the Food and
Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. This year's
theme highlights the increasing significance of water scarcity
worldwide and the need for increased integration and cooperation
to ensure sustainable, efficient and equitable management
of scarce water resources, both at international and local
levels.
22 March of each year as World Water Day.
Everybody is invited to devote the Day to concrete activities
such as the promotion of public awareness through the publication
and diffusion of documentaries and the organization of conferences,
round tables, seminars, expositions and other events related
to the conservation and development of water resources and
the implementation of the recommendations of Agenda 21.
In 2009, the theme for World Water Day is

Ramblings
Greetings,
Thank you for
taking the time to be here. This is a time of possibily
directing ourselves to a healthy green America. We, don't
seem to have a choice. The question I ponder, is, "How
can we do so gracefully?" Many, are experiencing a painful
time of shattering trials. My wish is that we realize that,
"we" is the collective we, and all inhibitants
need to be as well as we can get them. That we each need
to find personal peace, that we all must connect our ways
of being in this world, as seperate parts of one organism,
and our best focus may be toward a consideration of sustainable
abundance. That our cooperative support and interdepencence
will give us the possibility of shaping ourselves into healthy
sustainable communities of love and support.
We are the ones who
will make the choices that move us collectively in a healthy
sustainable direction. Working together, I believe that
we can make it through the challenges of this time in history
with with us choosing to work together.
The IHHN would like
to be here in the future, working to connect the holistic

Wellness Project for VETS,Families and Caregivers
This is the month when
many focus on love. I hope we focus on loving ourselves
and radiating that out to all those in our community and
through the planet. Many of us understand that what we do
with our time and money, is a clear message of what we value
and an indicator of the community and world you want to
inhabit.
"Simply
Healthy: Creating Sustainable Communities" Simply Living
Fair and Wellness Expo hosted Judy Wicks as keynote
(below) because of the IHHN's, and other conveners interest
in providing information that will contribute toward our
mutual sustainablity through health, simply living, food
and a strong local economy. Some local business were inspired
to begin dialoging about connecting to the
Business Alliance for Local Living Economies (BALLE), and
maybe establishing a Sustainable Business Network. As I
hear more about this, I will pass it along. If you want
to be added to the "Simply Healthy" Mailing List,

As the economy has
shifted, I've heard a whispers of a Bloomington Barter network,
and voices rising, asking, why we don't have a local currency?.
Well some of you may recall that a number of years ago,
Green
Dove Network published a web resource page on Currencies
that included information about local currencies in the
US and around the world. That page was developed during
a time when BLOOMinghours was still trying to make a go
at being a viable local currency in the Bloomington community.
There was even a barter network associated with it.
If I recall correctly,
Mike Englert and the others put out a great amount of effort
as pioneers of the beautiful local money. I say beautiful
because the bills were designed by local artist. The BLOOMinghour
connection, when last checked is still active. Last I checked,
Ithaca Hours local currency in New York is doing quite well;
and is integrated thoroughly into the community. You can
use local currency when buying a car and even when purchasing
a home, and the uses go on from there. Imagine the amount
of money the Ithaca community keeps working to help itself
stay healthy and sustainable! For more on local currencies
Click
Here. We will have to look to our Commission on Sustainability,
to our local growers, to chickens, maybe to even having
goats in some of the larger back yards: to magazines like
Communities, to expand our knowledge of people working
and living in a lot of diffrent kinds of communities, relationships
and networks. To gain perspective and see that we can draw
on knowledge gained. That we need to make hast and seek
out the old timers for the wisdom of there memories, listen
for ideas and inspirations. Determine your best direction.
Note - The CRANE
previously looked at water suggesting it as an area needing
our continued focus. The need to really pay attention to
water has grown even greater. Find out what is going on
in your communities and let us know.

Buying
Local Keeps Your Local Community Alive!
|
|
-In
2006 Bloomington Market Gardener Densie Breed-Ost Wrote
"Eat Where You Live - Five Reasons to Buy Local"
- Click to read her article. Look for Sean and Denise
at the summer market.-
What would you
do, if you decided to go shopping in your community and
found that all many of the unique merchants you liked
finding there were gone and all you had left were the
big box stores? When we choose to shop local, we help
sustain the richness we enjoy in our communities.
Yes, for many
of us, these are economically challenging times. And,
yes, there are lots of cheap things flooding stores, but
when you look at the real cost of purchasing objects that
are made to have a short lifespan (many knock offs of
the very items craftspeople and artist in your community
lovingly make), you often end up actually spending mores
and in many instances supporting slave wages.
Three possible
options before us are to:
1. purchase fewer of the things we don't really need.
Many Americans have much more "stuff" than can
ever really be used, or have time to actually be appreciated.
2. Buy local whenever possible. Yes, the cost appear to
be greater, that is because the people in your community
are not taking advantage of desperate folks. And as small
businesses, they don't get the breaks that the large chains
get. By shopping within your community, you may actually
be helping keep some of your neighbors off the unemployment
line.
3. If you cann't find what you want in the local community,
see if it is available as a Fair Trade product. Fair Trade
means that the people behind what you are buying are actually
getting paid a fair price for their goods and services.
Use the goods
and services of businesses who advertise in the IHHN (help
us to continue providing this resource to you), and others
listed in the IHHN Directory.

Secrets
of Abundance
by Dreama Vance
After the financial
letdowns of 2008, it's good to know that the next few
months will likely be a time for healing and recovery.
Financial abundance, like everything in life, is not so
much about what's out there in the world, but what's inside,
creating your personal reality.
Dreama Vance, the
cofounder of InfiniteBeing.com, recalls how her grandmother
lived her life, even through the years of the Great Depression,
with an almost magical sense of natural abundance.
The light filtered
softly into the room as the class took a deep breath and
relaxed on yoga mats. "What is your first memory
when I say the word grandmother?" the instructor
asked.
Apple butter. Immediately
I could taste the tangy sweetness, smell the cinnamon,
feel the velvety texture on my tongue. At the same instant
I saw her, sitting in the porch swing peeling apples and
I saw myself standing beside a huge kettle over an
open fire, huddling in my jacket against the cool crisp
air of the early autumn morning. I remember it as an Event.
The day before, some of the neighbor ladies would gather
on the porch and peel apples all day. Then, the next morning,
the apple butter would cook all day outside over that
open fire in that kettle that was bigger than I was. My
mother tells me that they would get rolls of new pennies
at the bank and line the kettle with them to keep the
apple butter from sticking on the bottom. Afterwards,
there would be jars and jars of apple butter and it was
the very best in all the world.
And so was my grandmother.
From the earliest time I can remember until college I
would spend summers with my grandparents. So I learned
a lot from them. They were simple, hardworking people,
with not much education, but I learned my first principle
of abundance from them.
Grandmother did not
work outside of the home, but she always had money. When
my sister and I wanted to go to the movies, Grandmother
would pull out a twenty dollar bill and tell us to keep
the change. This was when movies cost ten cents on
Saturdays.
Grandmother was always
finding money. It sounds funny to me now but it's true.
Her "luck" finding money is legendary in our
family. Granddaddy would take her to the grocery store
and Grandmother would open her car door and look down
and there
would be a twenty dollar bill. Or, she would be in the
grocery store and lean over the meat counter and find
a twenty dollarbill. Once she bought a sack of potting
soil and opened it up and found three hundred dollars.
At the same time
Grandmother was finding money, she was quietly giving
it away. Obviously, she gave to us kids. But I also remember
taking laundry up to Juanita's house to be ironed (even
though she had two perfectly capable grandchildren who
could iron) because Juanita's husband was out of work
and she
had six children to feed. By sending the ironing, Grandmother
was able to pay her.
There are other stories
of goodness, caring for the sick, meeting needs as she
found them. Grandmother always had the minister come for
Sunday dinner and she made sure he had new shoes when
he needed them. Once Grandmother brought home a neighbor
who was in a nursing home and fed and bathed and cared
for her for three weeks so the lady could have a "change
of scenery."
As I look back, I
literally see my Grandmother with money coming into her
left hand, passing through her heart and going out her
right hand. It is a constant flow. It comes in and goes
out. We are, after all, a conduit for the Infinite.
The Source is within
us. We do not need to seek outside of ourselves for our
supply. Indeed, there is, actually, nothing outside of
our consciousness. All we need to do, first, is to realize
this. The realization that nothing comes to us, but instead
comes from us, from the Outpouring of Spirit, is the foundation
of all abundance. Secondly, we must release it. We must
turn on the flow. We do this by giving. Spiritual teachings
tell us to create a vacuum so the Universe can fill it
up; that as you give, so shall you receive.
I love the two Bible
stories of the widow who feeds Elijah, and Jesus with
the loaves and fishes. In the first, Elijah asks a poor
widow for a morsel of bread. The destitute widow has only
a tiny bit of meal and a few drops of oil, only enough
to make one last cake for her and her son before they
face death
from such extreme poverty. Elijah assures her that if
she feeds him first, her supply will not run out. This
woman, facing death, takes from her meager supply, and
believing, steps out in faith, and gives. She prepares
a tiny cake and feeds Elijah. From this act, the cruse
(container) of oil and the meal are replenished; to the
initial tiny bit, more and more
is added, and she feeds Elijah and her household throughout
the famine. (1 Kings 17: 11-16)
In the story of the
feeding of the five thousand, Jesus is out in the desert
teaching and healing these hordes of people that have
followed him when, as the day wanes, the disciples approach
and suggest that he send the crowds away to find food
and lodging. Jesus replies, "Feed them." The
disciples, however, respond that they have only five loaves
and two fishes unless they go and buy food for all of
the people. So Jesus takes the five loaves and two fishes,
blesses them, and gives them to the disciples to set before
the multitudes. Everyone eats until they are full. At
the end of the meal, there are twelve basketsful left
over. (Luke 9: 11-17)
The two stories,
so rich in symbolism, illustrate the same principles I
learned from my grandparents. Open your heart and let
the 'All That Is' pour out from you into manifestation.
For many of us, when we first begin our spiritual journey,
we will give like the widow, stepping out in faith that
our supply will
be met. But as we mature in our spiritual growth and
understanding we will act from a place of knowledge, knowing
the Infinite within, and blessing and releasing as Jesus
did.Daily, in your meditation time, look into your house
and see what you have to give. Begin to pour from your
cruse of oil and break your loaves of bread. And like
my grandmother, do it
quietly, in silence.

'Clean
Coal' Doesn't Exist, Despite Industry Marketing Campaign
* By Ben Brabson,
Ph.D. & Lisa Ramsden
The Herald-Times (Bloomington, !N), via Common Dreams, January
8, 2009
Straight to the Source
Why, do you suppose,
the coal industry is spending $40 million a year on marketing
to convince us that coal is "clean?" Twenty years
ago "clean coal" meant that coal plants produced
no mercury, no oxides of sulfur and nitrogen, and no particulates.
Now, because of the devastating consequences of carbon dioxide
on climate, "clean coal" also means no CO2.
At this moment, our
principal energy sources are the carbon fuels: plentiful
coal, dwindling oil and natural gas. Unfortunately, the
carbon dioxide they produce when burned is also the principal
cause of our rapidly changing climate.
Our short-term response
is an immediate reduction in fossil fuel energy use, accompanied
by immediate reduction in cost, pollution, and a slowing
change in climate. Click

Plant
a Victory Garden!
* During World War
I and World War II, the US government asked its citizens
to plant gardens in order to support the war effort. Millions
of people planted gardens. In 1943, Americans planted over
20 million Victory Gardens, and the harvest accounted for
nearly a third of all the vegetables consumed in the country
that year.
* Planting a Victory Garden today is a great way to relieve
some of the strain of the worsening recession while reducing
your carbon footprint.
* Planting a Victory Garden reduces global warming pollution,
gasoline demand and the cost of food. Instead of traveling

Health
Care Reform Is Needed Now More than Ever!
With the US economy's downward spiral still
accelerating and the federal government looking at its largest
budget deficits since World War II, some are saying that
this is not the time to expand health care coverage to all
Americans.
But this is exactly the time for the Obama
administration to move boldly on its campaign promise to
implement a universal health care system.

*Peace
is a Bright Delight
by Gay Montague and Erin
|
| Wise
is a tale for young children to illustrate every person having
unique gifts, that can be more special when shared. A beautifuly
colorful, illustrated story of small angels, representing
seven of the worlds beliefs receiving their halos, and are
then inspired toexplore in a different way. In the end they
each have their imagined fun by joining all of their halos
in cooperation. |
| This book was born and raised
on two islands--Martha's Vineyard off the coast of Massachusetts
and Stony Island, seven miles out on Lake Ontario. The first
ideas came swiftly after seeing children dancing around with
glowsticks one summer night at an outdoor concert. It was
magical to see how creative and cooperative the children were,
sharing easily and being quite inventive with their swirling
sticks of color. The wisdom of the children was so apparent
as was their delight in working together. A vision of a peaceful
world unfolded. Shortly after writing this book, Erin and
Gay both became active in the Campaign for a US Department
of Peace.-thepeacealliance.org. Children are leading the way
for all of us to live in a more joyful and peaceful world.

A ton of paper made from 100 percent recycled paper saves
the equivalent of 4100 kwh energy, 7000 gallons of water,
380 gallons of oil, 60 pounds of air emissions, 17 trees and
3 cubic yards of landfill space." |

Approximately 65,000 to 75,000 trees are needed to produce
paper for the Sunday edition of the New York Times." |

Currently, less than 5% of magazine paper has any recycled
content, a practice that consumes an astounding 35 million
trees each year or about 100,000 trees a day! Get
